Celebrating 50 Years of Native Art
The Red Cloud Indian Art Show

The annual Red Cloud Indian Art Show is the largest and longest running Native American art show of its kind in the country, and one of only a few held on an Indigenous reservation hundreds of miles from any urban area.

Say Wut! by Molina Parker, winner of the Savage/Zuern Award for most innovative use of traditional methods and techniques.

Since 1969, the show has attracted thousands of visitors to The Heritage Center and the Pine Ridge Reservation to view impressive works of art by seasoned Native American professionals alongside young artists just beginning their careers. The annual show runs for ten weeks through the summer, and showcases more than 150 pieces in categories ranging from painting and photography to beadwork and quillwork. All artwork in the show is for available for purchase and can be shipped. The proceeds from each sale support individual artists as well as the work of The Heritage Center.

Shoshone Madonna II by Daniel McCoy, winner of the Br. CM Simon, SJ Award for artwork to be used for publicity for the following year's show.

2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Red Cloud Indian Art Show—please join us for the special celebration and gallery opening on Saturday, June 2! Or visit any time during the summer: the show will run from June 3 to August 12, 2018.

The show is free and open to the public seven days a week. Tours of The Heritage Center  Gallery and Red Cloud Indian School’s historic campus are available. Make plans now to experience the show—as well as the history and beauty of our campus, the Pine Ridge Reservation, and the surrounding Badlands and Black Hills.
