On May 25, Red Cloud Indian School’s newest graduates walked across the stage to receive their diplomas and took a major step toward achieving their dreams!
Stanford University, Dartmouth College, the University of New Mexico and many others will welcome our graduates this fall to strengthen the foundation you and others helped build for them. Each one of Red Cloud’s new graduates has plans for post-secondary education or training next year fueled by hundreds of thousands of dollars in earned scholarships. And they all possess a strong desire to support and serve their community.
There are big plans are on the horizon for our new graduates – from launching an engineering company to spur economic development on the Pine Ridge Reservation; to working as a nurse for the Indian Health Service; to opening a restaurant inspired by Lakota heritage.
We are so proud to be celebrating the next generation of Lakota leaders – and so excited to watch their bright futures unfold!
From all of us at Red Cloud, and especially from our graduating seniors, we send heartfelt thanks for the support and encouragement. We hope you, too, will celebrate all our students have accomplished, sharing Red Cloud’s story far and wide. Wóphila!
