Red Cloud Elementary's Craft Night Brings Holiday Cheer
posted on December 9, 2013
"I did it!" yells a little girl at the end of a long lunchroom table covered in a blue plastic table cloth. "Mom, look, I made a snowman!" she says as she holds up a snowman picture frame made from craft foam. Each December, students, staff and family gather in Serena Hall, transforming the lunchroom for one short evening into a crafty cacophony of giggles, glitter and cuteness.
Staff from across the institution and faculty from Red Cloud's Elementary school set up themed craft tables that beckon students from kindergarten through the eighth grade to paint, glue, and color holiday cards, ornaments, little wooden soldiers and more. With the addition of an array of light snacks the Holiday Craft Night has become a school tradition that brings smiles to the faces of relatives and staff each year.
