Parish News: Disciple Days at Sacred Heart Church

Sacred Heart Church, Pine Ridge, SD held Disciple Days July 18th-20th. Disciple Days is a fellowship program designed for local youth. The theme was “Walking With Jesus”and it was centered on the trinity with the first day being about the Father, the second the Son, and the third the Holy Spirit..

According to Sister Barb Bogenschutz, director of religious education at Sacred Heart, there was a good turnout of about 29 kids ranging from 3 years to High School in attendance. The older children helped to teach the younger children.

Shannon Grooms is a member of Our Lady of the Sioux Church. She taught Religion at Red Cloud Elementary School for four years until the birth of their oldest daughter. Shannon, her husband, and her two daughters live on a ranch nine miles north of Oglala, South Dakota.
