Lakota Games
Each fall, Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School hosts its annual outdoor day of traditional games called Lakota Games. The games, which traditionally take place at the powwow grounds in Porcupine, offer students in each grade level an opportunity to compete against neighboring reservations schools. Schools from across the reservation send one male and one female to compete in the event.
While events do change from year to year, they have often included:
- Cross the River
- Bow and Arrow
- Marble Game
- Elk Game
- Cross Country
- Archery
- Spear Throw
Parents are encouraged to attend Lakota Games to support their children.
