The Heritage Center at Red Cloud Indian School gets oversized
posted on March 28, 2011
The Heritage Center at Red Cloud Indian School will open its gallery doors to the public on April 4, 2011, with a new exhibit, “Oversized.”
The exhibit gets its name from the size of the pieces, which are some of the largest currently in the permanent collection. The Center’s permanent collection has a variety of different sized pieces—from miniature to oversized—each making its own statement, whether with color, graphics or size. Mary Bordeaux, curator at The Heritage Center, says it the oversized pieces in this exhibit are not to be missed.
“The oversized paintings require ample space to view and to appreciate their beauty and voices,” says Bordeaux. “The show will allow us to showcase these large paintings so that others may also enjoy their beauty.”
“Oversized” will be on display until May 20, 2011. The Heritage Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
