Red Cloud High School offers Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, February 2

Red Cloud High School will host a Financial Aid Night for current seniors and their parents on Wednesday, February 2 at 5 p.m. in Serena Hall. Counselors from the high school will be available to walk parents step-by-step through the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid application process, which can be filled out online at www.fafsa.gov.
The evening will begin with a dinner. Afterward, families will move to the high school computer labs.
The FAFSA is used by two- and four-year colleges and universities and career training programs to award federal student aid, state aid and college grants.
“The FAFSA application is important for any college-bound student who seeks financial aid while completing their post-secondary education,” says Tara Hindman, high school counselor and site coordinator for South Dakota GEAR UP and College Access. “It can be a little intimidating the first time they fill the application out. This night helps answer any questions parents may have while applying for financial aid for their student.”
In addition to counselors from the high school, representatives from GEAR UP and College Access will also be available to answer questions and provide guidance on next steps in the college application process.
“We hope to make the college application process as easy as we can for the parents because we hope to see every single one of our students go to college,” Hindman adds.
