At this year's Lakota Nation Invitational, students from Red Cloud Indian School made it clear that they were a force, both on and off the court. The Crusaders made it to the basketball championship game against White River and took 2nd place overall in a hard fought game that has been described as a 'Bookmark Moment' by the press. Duran Richards was recognized as All-tourney for his hard work, endurance and skill. The Lady Crusaders also brought their A game and finished 5th overall!
At the Lakota Language Bowl, Red Cloud consistently performed above and beyond to take home the win as specktators sat at the edge of their seats! The story was picked up by the Associated Press and Indian Country Today!

Red Cloud students were also honored for their skill in art at the LNI Art Show where Gabriela Rodriguez took home 2nd place for her Pencil drawing; Justina Bagola also came in 2nd place for her work in Beading; and Kristian Big Crow's work was recognized for Best in Show!!
The Red Cloud Cheerleaders also won the LNI Dance Competition with amazing attention to detail and fluidity!
The school also worked hard and finished in high standings in the Knowledge Bowl, Archery, Handgames, and in Pow Wow. Red Cloud Indian School certainly made an impact at this year's LNI. Congratulations to all the articulate, athletic, and artistic students for a job well done.
